Do you think having a pancake breakfast before the hunting the temporary caches at the Geo-Picnic would be a good idea? Would you be willing to pay a small amount for an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast (probably $4 adults, $2 kids like at the campout) and come a little early to eat (breakfast might start around 8am, cache hunting would start at 9).

Post here to let the Board know what you think.

Here are some reasons I already gave the Board as to why I think this is a good idea:

    – Make use of the newly purchased (and relatively expensive) griddle. If it gets used for every WGA event, then no one will second guess whether this purchase was justified.

    – We are always looking for ways to increase the social aspect of WGA events instead of just having them be a temp cache frenzy. People will sit down and eat breakfast prior to caching (especially if we withhold GPS downloads and temp cache information until they do ;)). I know some diehard cachers won’t come back for lunch, and maybe not even the group photo, but I believe that most would be willing to do something social before they head out on their “conquest”.

    – Make some money for the WGA. As far as I know, all the pancake breakfasts we have held have at least generated some positive revenue for the WGA. I’d be willing to donate some food items (as has been done by others in the past) in order to increase the profits made by the WGA.

I think breakfast is a great idea for all of the reasons that you mentioned. I would even be willing to come extra early and help cook if you could use the help.

I think this is a great idea….a really nice way to increase the social aspect of the event. If it is ‘built’, we will come!

sorry, 8am is just too early for us. what about pancakes for lunch? it is so great not worrying about the numbers anymore. we get to stop for lunch and visit and eat and eat.

If you cook them, they will come! Shoot, if nothing else, I’ll bet those helping set-up and do last minute things will eat. But as you see already, there are some ready and willing to pay up! Count us in!

Sure, we can always use another meal!

Given all the things that need to be done in the AM to set up for the picnic, a pancake breakfast would not be feasible at this time.

That is, unless, other people want to volunteer for these duties….
