So we’ve all gotten to know each other because we’re all passionate about geocaching. So let’s say you were going to plan a geocaching day for us, what sort of day would you plan? What are your favorite types of geocaches?

I think I would plan a day at Devil’s Lake or some other State Park (along with some WSQ’s if there are any in the area). I would make sure I had downloaded the overlay for the high res TOPO as the last time caching there I almost went off trail 90 feet from the cache but the TOPO had the cache 25 feet higher than the trail. I think a good caching day exercises the GPS as much as we would exercise.

It would depend on who I am caching with, and what they are up for finding.

I’ve done caching trips only going for T5s.

It might be mission based (complete a series in a day, complete a challenge, or fill spots in your D/t Grid).

If you want to do a power trail, you’re on your own. I tried it once, stopped after 8 finds. Too boring.

I would have to say that the day would combine another activity in with the caching, say a bike trail or hiking trail (IAT for instance). Not saying that a drive and find ’em would be out of the question, but that takes additional route planning and I am kind of a “when the feeling hits me” person.

I’m open to just about any kind of caching really. I’ve spent entire days doing park and grabs, but I also enjoy the long hikes in the woods. All depends on how much time I have and what the weather is like on any given day.

Well since the ice is on the lake, let’s go hit the apostle islands.

Hi Beccaday, I like this question. Being that I cannot do long treks in the woods. The type of day if I were to bring along geocachers for a fun filled day of event would maybe be a walk or a bike ride on a bike trail, since most of them are not to far off the trail. It would be a great day of exercise, along with great story to be shared and a day full of fun shared with geocaching friends. Making some new and old friends along the way. This is what the Geocaching community/family is all about.
