As we sit and read and debate the issues on this list. Let’s all take a moment and remember what happened on this day five years ago. Please everyone, take a moment to reflect, to say a prayer and to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you. It’s one of those little things you don’t think about until it’s too late.
September 11, 2001… a day that should never be forgotten. To all the brave souls that gave their life in hopes of rescuing others… rest in peace. To all the innocent victims of terror… rest in peace. You will not be forgotten.
Amen!!!!
We as a group seem to argue over the numbers an awful lot. But here are some numbers that I picked up refering to the victims of the attack 5 years ago.
We cannot argue these. In fact we can reflect on them and never forget the events that happened that day.
nearly 2,800 victims
fewer than 300 whole bodies found
fewer than 1,600 victims identified
over 1,100 victims remain unidentified
over 800 victims identified by DNA alone
nearly 20,000 pieces of bodies found
over 6,000 pieces small enough to fit in test-tubes
over 200 pieces matched to single person
nearly 10,000 unidentified pieces frozen for future analysis
Peace be with all the innocent victims.
