Has anyone found one of these in Wisconsin? I don’t think you can search by type of cache on geocaching.com. Sounds like this letterboxing was a pre gps method of caching.

Letterboxing is an interesting topic. Never done it, but have followed the threads a bit. While LB is primarily a British activity, it is still quite popular over here.

From what I’ve heard, LetterBoxers are somewhat of an eliet crowd, and frown on the rest of us a bit as amature putters. I’m sure that opinion is not universal, but I’ve heard that mentioning geocaching on one of their message boards can have a fun, explosive effect

As far as searching for them on geocaching.com, the only way to do this is with Jeremy’s Pocket Query feature which allows you to search by cache type (multi, virtual, letterbox hybrid etc.). This feature is only available to charter members however.
