At first I thought it was just odd, but now I think it’s suspicious.
It first started with my Hidden Forteress Cache (Renamed Off the Beaten Path). The log, nothing else, was stollen. It was later muggled.
Then my cache The Basement that Never Was.. was stollen, replaced, and no it appears it was stollen again..for the logbook.
Somewhere between all that one of my other caches, Humpty Dumpthy, in the same park as Off the Beaten Path had it’s log stollen, too. All these caches are within 1 mile of each other.
I’ve been noticing other similar notes on cache pages in the vicinity, namely one mentioned today in a log on the cache “Hope Grows Here”.
I find this very odd. At first I found it as a strange coincidence, but now I’m starting to think it’s maybe a local cacher?? 😮 😕 🙁

09/03/2007 at 11:47 am #1878615A lot of cachers have their own private collections of coins. They will take them to events and let other cachers discover them and look at them. I love coins, but I don’t have any. Because a lot of them have been stolen, they are now using pathtags to trade with. I am going to order some one of these days, but I haven’t come up with a design yet. Another cheaper alternative is the wooden nickle. Some people collect these as well. My son being one of them. I think what happens with some of the travel bugs is that people lose them. I haven’t heard much of them being stolen, but one never knows. I am sure it happens. The logs though, that’s a new one to me. I have taken a couple in the past only because I was replacing ones that were completely filled. The cache owners then told me to just throw out the old one. Who knows, maybe one of those goofy names will become President and that log will be worth something. Don’t know any other reason.

However, I would hope that old ones that get replaced would be held on to for posterity. The non-micro ones can have great little stories written in them. But I keep the micro sheets too, just to look at how different people sign in. If cache owners are just tossing them, then why bother writing in them?

Hmmm! Another reason why I feel the important ‘log’ is the on line one.
I toss old logs. What value do they have? Many have become unreadable after getting wet. If anyone wnats my old logs, they are welcome to them….!
