Isn’t signing your own log similar to hiding your own easter eggs.
pre-adoption or post-adopting out makes total sense.
08/19/2011 at 11:09 am #1951944If the rules don’t spell it out don’t we all just need to “get over ourselves”. We could always make up fake accounts and hide them under a child’s name? Which is more right?

08/19/2011 at 11:50 am #1951945Considering the recent debauching of the “find” count via challenges, what does it matter. In my opinion “Finds” is now meaningless, but it’s not about the numbers anyway (right?)

Agreed. Numbers have now gotten to the point of being a joke. Maybe its time to bring back logging temp caches at WGA events too….hang on I’ll be right back I need to get some coffee………….OK now I can tick off one more challenge and get a smiley.
08/19/2011 at 4:28 pm #1951947Those challenges are added to the find count? Sheesh. Personally, we have only logged the Lil’ Otter ones we adopted (which we actually visited), but if someone wants to log their own cache….so be it. We all have many and varied reasons for doing the things we do, and in the end it really means nothing….even before the “debauchment.” 😉
08/21/2011 at 10:12 pm #1951948I have seen families who cache under a team name. For instance dad goes out and hides the cache, then the wife and kids go find them and they log it. Or, each family member may start their own account and log it also. Play it how you want! If it gets people and families out of the house, doing stuff together away from the TV and video games – go for it! You are not hurting me!
🙂08/21/2011 at 11:33 pm #1951949There is a difference between what is possible, and what is good.
So, while it may be possible to log your own cache, it is kind of lame and people will notice. (assuming it is not a cache that you adopted.)

08/22/2011 at 7:52 pm #1951950What would be really tacky is if you were the FTF on your own cache!
The views expressed here are that of myself only and do not necessarily represent that of the WGA board.

Or your really good buddies cache (i.e. logged as found within 5 minutes of publishing).

What’s the difference?

We’re going to guess that it’s actually been done.

08/29/2011 at 12:07 pm #1951957FTF is an invisible stat anyway. If the owner signs the log just go ahead and put FTF in your own log if it makes you happy.
