05/13/2005 at 9:25 pm #1721642We really haven’t run into this before, but we are working on the N.E.W. Solar System series in Green Bay, and in the multis there’s usually mention that you can log certain stages separately. Is this kosher in everyone’s minds? I mean I’ll take some extra finds, but do others do this? Thanks to all who are exhausted by my constant stream of questions. 05/13/2005 at 10:22 pm #1749441As owners of these caches, we did this purposely. Some of them are extensive, hard to find multis and we wanted those attempting them to get credit (if they choose too) for what they completed, even if they did not get to the final. Wheher or not its “kosher” (I hate that term used out of context), we really don’t care. Log them as you see fit. Just have fun caching and enjoying the trails! 05/13/2005 at 10:22 pm #1749442Generally speaking, if each stage has a seperate logbook, you can log a find for each one that you found. 05/14/2005 at 2:22 am #1749443Yes, with this series any of the containers that has a log book in it is considered a logable find. One of the main reasons we decided to do it this way is that we have done several caches that have had multiple waypoints. One in particular took us over a week to complete devoting several hours each day to it. The cache had close to 20 separate waypoints but you could only log it as one find when you were done. Don’t get me wrong, overall it was a very fun time but part of us felt that this effort should have been worth a little more than just one find. Several months later, the owner of the cache broke it down into several separate caches. That is the great thing about this little obsession. You can choose to log either way and you won’t hurt our feelings. Both are acceptable so it is just a matter of personal preference. Don from AstroD-Team 05/14/2005 at 3:10 am #1749444Thanks Astro D’s! We’ll do it your way. It’s pretty well reasoned, and as hard as Neptune was for us, we’d be proud to log it. I just see some teams log stages on not particularly hard multis that Don’t specify like you have. Oh and by the way, thank you for a truly excellent series. We’re going back for more tomorrow. 05/14/2005 at 10:49 am #1749445I completed this series back in January. I was very appreciative of the fact that multiple logs were available. As AstroDTeam stated many were deserving of a log due to there difficulty, etc. Especially Mars!!!
I have done others caches with multiple logs. Each time they were deserving. Good question though.
Uncle_Fun05/16/2005 at 1:15 am #1749446Multiple logs won’t increase your number of finds….. unless you log them on seperate days. At least it was that way the last time I logged an event cache. The work around is to change the date for each find. 05/16/2005 at 9:14 am #1749447quote:

Multiple logs can be made for a cache on one day and they will be properly tallied on the stats pages that are currently active. This used to be one big P.I.A. See the logs at Latham Peak.
