I’m going to try to keep this short – being the most vocal and opinionated about this topic, it’s very easy for me to get long-winded.
First. Thanks -cheeto- for breaking down the numbers in much the say way I see and interpret them. I know the poll has flaws but the results still speak volumes about the overall luke-warm reception of the new logo.
Second. Lets all agree that the current BOD did follow the agree upon process to go from initial logo concepts by the WGA body to a final vote for the final “concept”, voted on by the body, and finalization of that concept and final vote by the BOD. While some of us were not happy with the timeline, the degree to which information was presented or even the final color choice, it cannot be said that the BOD didn’t follow the process through to the end.
Third. We have the final choice of the “vocal” WGA body and the final version of that choice as voted on by the BOD. I don’t think there’s any merit in revisiting that process or talking about any of the other logos or color choices to date.
What does bear discussion and will soon be presented to the new BOD as a proposal, is whether or not there is anything to be gained by submitting the concept to the professionals, in a tight timeframe, for a limited amount of money, to see if a parallel contest could yield any stronger candidates then our internal contest did.
For all the reason listed, some of us do still care.
