Is there a prize for having the lowest points? 😀
Cheezehead is in also. Ya, is there a prize for the lowest points? There ‘s not too many lonely caches around me, but there is one of mine and one I adopted. How would that play out?
12/18/2007 at 5:50 pm #1882167Can points be split between two or more teams if they team up on the hunt or is this an all-or-nothing-drag-out-death-match kind of thing?

You can’t get credit for your own caches, but there are 12 caches on the list within 30 miles of Hayward, and only two are yours (Apostle Island and the Hayward Cheesehead and the 52 Pickup you adopted).
12/18/2007 at 7:03 pm #1882169I’m game. Count me in.

Finds count for everyone logging a find. I suppose if people team up to fix a cache, we can double up the points as well.
12/18/2007 at 9:24 pm #1882171How about points for being the last one to find some of these? LOL I think we were last finders on 4 or 5 of them!
12/18/2007 at 9:30 pm #1882172I hope the cop points were tongue and cheek and not really scorable….

If you can do it and prove it, I guess I have to award the points. Given the number of naked cachers in the other thread, the indecent exposure citations might be a real possibility.
12/18/2007 at 9:55 pm #1882174h. Note that points can only be scored on a particular cache once EXCEPT for rule number a. There is no limit to the number of people who can score points by finding one of these caches.
Could you explain this a little more…thanks.
12/18/2007 at 10:47 pm #1882175So….let’s say, hypothetically, that perhaps some cachers decide to do a little family bonding time. Like….Timberline Echoes and Trekkin’ and Birdin’…or Sagasu and labrat. Let’s say they go out together and find a lonely cache. Can both teams get the points in this situation?
Just askin.’ Is all.
So…never mind. I read the rules more carefully and it sounds as if many different teams can find these, just that one team can only find it one time.
I’m kinda liking the idea of checking on ones we’ve found, though. At this point in time, I’m happy to be living where we do. If you’ve cached around here, you know what I mean (terrain ratings!).

Ummm, not to sound stupid, but how did find that out? I did look at the list, is there a way to figure out which are the closest?

12/19/2007 at 12:33 am #1882179Ooooooooooo! One of my caches hasn’t been found in over a year – so double points for someone! (GCV4CY) And it really is the best time to get out there. No bugs and the bog is frozen. Shouldn’t be too many hunters anymore either.
I was going to archive it and change it into something else, but now I won’t. 8) I do hope it’s still there – I haven’t checked it since gun hunting season.
12/19/2007 at 12:36 am #1882180If that one doesn’t have my name written all over it, I don’t know what does! So, do those double points only go to the first player to find it?
(which I suppose is answered in the rules, if I’d click backward!) -
