The game starts Jan 1. If you know of any caches that haven’t been found since August 31, please email me at [email protected] and I will add them to the list. I added Here Fishy Fishy onto the list. It was disabled when I ran the pocket queries.
12/21/2007 at 4:18 pm #1882197Team Sloughfoot will play the game. I’m not sure I will ever be able to figure out my score. I’m not smart enough to be a duck hunter any more because of all the rules and this seems to be quite complicated with a lot of manual intervention required by the owner. But lets go for it and see how it works.

Don’t worry about the score! We are already planning a system to allow 3 Hawks to calculate his score, since it will likely exceed 21, his mathematical limit.

21? 10 is about my limit cuz that is the number of fingers I have. Does 3 hawks do his calculations in his bare feet, and have an extra toe?

Would you like me to draw you a picture of my 21 “digits” or would you just like to see my counting technique in person?
Hey, can we somehow award points for official cache rescue missions???

This may be added in the near future. The development on the webpage has started, so I don’t want to change specs now.

Sounds like you are making good progress. Just wondering if we might want to use our ability to send an email to all WGA members to notify folks that dont frequent the forums of the start of the game.

Not a bad idea, but lets make sure its ready before we make some sort of mass announcement.
01/04/2008 at 5:55 pm #1882205h. Note that points can only be scored on a particular cache once EXCEPT for rule number a. There is no limit to the number of people who can score points by finding one of these caches.
this was left out of the official rules. would you elaborate on it please.
I think there are people who think once a lonely cache is scored it is out of play.on a similar note, if you log a DNF and get points awarded, but you just can’t let it go and chase after it again, can you get more points if you find it the next time out or would your score be adjusted?
Disclaimer : Always answering to a higher power.
01/04/2008 at 9:30 pm #1882206just thought of something else.
can a cache be “revisited” and scored after it is found by a cacher that has not previously found it or is it out of play but for those who have never found it before? (see rule a.)

01/04/2008 at 10:09 pm #1882207As long as the cache is active, you can score points with either a find or a no-find, no matter how many people have found it. It is probably better to post a NM or a SBA note if you think it is missing, along with your DNF. I’m trying to keep this simple, and waiting for some of these people to take action would just take too long and introduce too much uncertainty.
01/07/2008 at 1:03 am #1882208Disadvantage: Too many of the local lonely caches are mine.
Advantage: Dave has got the bug! He’s out checking my caches, and doing maintenance for me!
Thanks, Dave. Now, if you only can figure out which cache you are actually at…………..
01/08/2008 at 11:34 am #1882209I see Zuma posted a number of reports from December 1969!
Talk about time warping! Or in his case, perhaps it’s time walking?
01/08/2008 at 1:52 pm #1882210Here’s an FYI—-I was looking for lonely caches along a route I have to travel for storytelling stuff this weekend and was all excited to see this one. GCPJE7 Golden Delicious It sounded like Honeybunnies, who were the last searchers, just found part of the final, and also like it is at a private campground. So I emailed the cache owners to see if it’s okay to look for it right now and if I could replace the final.
She just emailed me back and said it’s not a good time to hunt for it and she should have archived it for the winter.
Otherwise, would there have been bonus points for trespassing out of season and finding a cache? 😯 There is no way we’ll ever catch someone like Dave. My gosh, he’s a machine!
