Thanks! The cow just popped up by the same seller, but the bidding quickly went beyond what I was willing to pay. Coming late to the geocaching party can get expensive in the attempt to keep up with everyone who was into it before it was cool!

Yeah I was surprised to see the cow go over $30.Ā  I haven’t seen a WGA coin go for that much before.Ā  But then again, it’s not often that an unactivated WGA cow geocoin surfaces.

Me, too! I gave up after $32, though I thought about trying to go as high as $40. My max bid on the state coin was $25, and it never got that high.

Thinking about not activating it, after seeing a couple of comments. I’ve activated most of my geocoins, and I’m still catching up on making proxies for them. I certainly don’t need another personal mileage TB!

Well, the auction for the cow coin ended. I went to see how much it went for, and I have a “second chance” to buy it for $31, which was the amount I was last outbid by. Wonder what happened with the other bidder?

It could be that the seller had 2 of them and decided that he/she would sell the second for your bid. I have done that on a few of my auctions. You typically only have 24 hours on a second chance offer, so you have to decide quickly.

All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.

It’s possible. The seller sells a lot of coins on eBay, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they had another one. Plus, the auction I was bidding on just ended, so there’s still time for the winner to make a payment. They’re giving me til Sunday to decide if I think he’s worth $31 plus shipping.

Ended up winning an ’08 coin last night on ebay to add to my collection now!

Now just looking to add the ’05, ’06, ’07, ’11, and ’12 to my collection. I know a good number of them to get šŸ™‚ but will always try an keep an eye open.

I found one of the ’08 geocoins at Geocoinfest in St. Louis a few years back. Scored it as a good price too. So Geocoinfest is another good source if you have time.

What year was the first coin with a buck on it I think?
