The list of available state parks is getting pretty small. Please consider becoming a Trail Boss.
About 17 parks are unspoken for, can you pick up one?
For Historical significant parks such as Azatlan, we have a contact within the WDNR than will work with us to provide a secure and safe geocache location within the park.
Which are left?

09/18/2013 at 3:18 am #1971943Looking at the list I could possibly place one at Nelson-Dewey but I’m reluctant as it is further out of my normal range but not too far from Wyalusing so it is a possible if no one else steps up. We are going to Galena this weekend so I may be able to stop in there.
09/18/2013 at 10:09 am #1971944kc9gbo, thank you for the placement and adoption. It’s wise of you to not over extend yourself. We don’t want to make this a chore but labor of love if maintenance issues are needed.
One cache placed has had a small maint. issue and it was nice to have the CO close by.

09/18/2013 at 10:10 am #1971945If you check the first post, there is an up to date list of parks but I will post here the list. The only accurate listing will be the 1st posting in this thread to not confuse.
There are a couple of Historically significant parks (Azatlan for example) that our WDNR contact and the park managers will all work with us to find a spot for a cache.

09/18/2013 at 11:26 am #1971946FYI: State Park stickers are not valid at Heritage Hill State Park in Green Bay. They have their own admission charges…currently it is $9/adult/visit. They also offer member rates starting at $30 that offers unlimited visits for one year.

09/24/2013 at 8:50 pm #1971949What is the requirement for a ‘state park” to make the list? Cadiz Springs is called Cadiz Springs State Recreation Area, but is listed under the DNR’s Wisconsin State Park System. A state park sticker is required to get in.
09/24/2013 at 9:53 pm #1971950I think that we may expand the program to include the other type of state land classifications at some point, but for now we’re just placing them in the State Parks.

10/07/2013 at 9:30 pm #1971952Heritage Hill State Park
I was there today and they would LOVE a cache at the park. I could do it but I would like to do a mutl that would involve spots outside of the park. That way no one would have to pay to play!!
Let me know and will get it started.
Rosie70010/08/2013 at 10:19 am #1971953Rosie, thanks for the offer. Email or PM me. We want to keep this a traditional cache and there looks to be several spots outside the park that would work. I’ve been checking out the sat photos of the area and there’s great opportunity.
After placing the WGA cache, you could then do your own multi to bring people to the spot.

10/15/2013 at 8:28 pm #1971954I have not forgotten about Brunet State Forest. We just got our first addition to Team Northwoods and now that she is home with us a cache I will be placing. I may work 3 miles from there but it seems I can’t be there. With the time off I had to take a work backed up it will be placed soon maybe even tomorrow. A couple caches and a GPS are sitting in my vehicle just waiting for me. As I write this I am sitting in eau Claire and tomorrow in Winter. All around but not in Cornell. Never thought it would be this hard to place a cache next to a place I go through 5 times a week.
Thank you for your patience.

10/15/2013 at 8:46 pm #1971955Life jumps at us everyone in awhile and I understand. Please do your best to have this ready by Nov. 1st. We need to begin discussing the Challenge and the WDNR wants to know the plan for 2014.
