WGAers…I have this idea and since the I came up with it, it is probably pretty silly but we need your help.

Often we hear requests for “Which GPS handheld should I buy?”.

We’d like to toss together a GPS review. We are looking for you to write up a review for the GPS you have bought this year. Garmin, Magellan, DeLorme, Lowrance…any of them, we’d like to get you review of what works well and maybe not so well with the model you bought in 2016.

If you have an Oregon 700 series, we are especially interested as it is the newest and the greatest (or is it?).

Thanks to luckyastrodiver for her submission on the Oregon 700.

As we gather a few reviews, we will post them on the website and place the link to it here.

Contact us here or submit it to: [email protected]

Due date will be October 31st.

Make it as long or as short as you wish.

    Following the signals from space.

I just bought a Garmin gpsmap 64…hasn’t even arrived yet. But it’s an upgrade to the gpsmap 62s which was my previous unit…until it finally died a couple of weeks ago. I bought a Garmin etrex Touch 20 at Cabela’s. I loved its ease of use but it didn’t get very good satellite reception in wooded areas…and that’s huge when geocaching! I returned it after testing it for a couple of weeks (great return policy at Cabela’s). The 64s has a great external antenna and that was my determining factor in purchasing it. Like the 62s, I can load pq’s on it from my computer, it records field notes for easy logging, and can send/receive caches remotely to/from another enabled unit like the Oregons. I ordered the new one from Garmin…they offer a 20% discount when sending in your old unit.

    Oconto...the birthplace of western civilization:)
