With the successful conclusion of the 2007 GeoCampout, we are looking for volunteer to serve on the 2008 GeoCampout Committee.
Campout Committee
- Formation: Committee will be formed within one month of the conclusion of the previous event.
- Purpose: Planning our Annual Spring Campout
- Membership: Minimum of 4 Volunteer Board Members and Volunteers from the WGA Community.
- Conducting Business: A specific Campout Committee Forum will be set up for all committee members to use in planning of current and future campouts.
This committee will be the event planners and will be responsible for putting on the entire event. There will be times as in the past where we will ask for volunteers to help with certain aspects of the event – for example: cache hiding and pancake flipping.
If you just want to help hide caches or flip pancakes, we will again be asking for volunteers for those specific occasions.
We are looking to fill out our committee with WGA Members and Friends who wish to be part of the planning process and shape the 2008 Campout.
We have several board members already on the committee and are looking to fill up the committee with willing volunteers.
Below is a list of some of the things that the committee will need to take care of:
- Begin work on a timeline template for committee use in planning future Campouts
- Choose Location
- Choose Date
- Choose a Service Project
- Cache Hiding (Saturday day, and Night Caches)
- Booklet Printing, Mapping, and Assembly
- Coordinate the Registration and Paperwork
- Create gpx files, GPSr uploads, Paperless files
- Pancake Breakfast
- Work closely with Park management
- Work with webmasters
- T-shirts
- Any new and special ideas!
