Sorry for being late on this one. I couldn’t post what I know until I got permission from GS. The new icons will show up on the attendees page as well as the event owners. The key is to make sure you call your event “10 years! (Insert Place name here)”, such as “10 Years! Milwaukee” or “10 Years! North of Highway 64 in the middle of nowhere, Wisconsin”. You can be creative as long as the place accurately describes where you are having the event. (No “10 Years! Barcelona” events in Wausau!) Additionally, you have to take an attendee photo (or video) of the event and post it to the cache page. Finally, it cannot be a flash mob. To me, that means you need at least 1 hour duration. Otherwise, standard event guidelines apply.

No one asked, but if you want to try for one of the “lackey attended” events, you better start asking now. Note that reviewers don’t count as lackeys. (We are sub-lackeys.)

Not to us yer not…to us you are the unsung heros of Wisconsin Geocaching….

    Thanks for the clarification.

Hmmm 90 miles between Milwaukee and Madison. One event every 10 miles??? We could get 10 of them in. I did not read anything in the rules about not having an event a park and ride. Gotta work on the creative naming thingy. And sub lackeys would be most welcomed as they are much more fun that the stuffy full lackeys.

If folks really wanted to do this I could check my (wife’s) calendar and put an hour aside to hold such an event in Ocono…though the thought of being THAT social is a bit daunting I think I’d survive it.

Maybe 10 separate themes…(costumes at places)…just all around silliness a little at each location.

I like this idea! If we try for this I will do one in Delafield, a scateboard party theme at their skate park!

Anybody else want to do this? I’m ready to start planning! An hour at each stop, for meet and greets, snacks and maybe a new cache or two for each of the event, four, five or six stops with the final in Madison for Smashing Grounds pizza party?

I have Northern Lightz on board. If L7 takes one with smashing grounds as the final in Madison, that would give us four, Delafield to Oconomowoc to Johnsons Creek to Madison!

80% sure we can come up with something. What would really be cool is have one event at the lake front, another around the zoo interchange, and another in Brookfield/Waukesha area.

It would be nice to get 10 events going, one for every year. Does anyone else think this is a good idea?

10 events in a day is going to slip in to Flash Mob territory. But over 2 days, it could work.

What if we did one day going towards and ending in Madison and the next day go in the other direction ending at the Lakefront.

I would agree that perhaps 5 on Sat and 5 on Sun would be better…
