The first posted photo of this hat … makes me want to go get some of those white-chocolate Herseys(R) Kisses … minus the large growth beneath.

    Actually, it fits quite nicely.

I too wondered what Geoff was up to … so I digitally enhanced the photo, to reveal fishing line, a transculecent mini pole, and an attempted hat thief …

It has become obvious that future events will require the purchase and abandonment of some article of clothing at the event to generate a lengthy and entertaining forum thread.

Uhm I would suggest said clothing be made a mystery cache…wouldn’t that be a hoot. then we could claim another cache after the event…..hmmmmmm…. …who could we ask to donate?

The hat does not belong to Lightning Bugs….the mystery continues….

Is it really a hat … maybe it’s just a strange mushroom? Can we trust KB’s ability to identify the species of something in the woods? On a serious note (ok not serious, just not silly) … the hat that was found seems to have lighter color chin straps, than the one lightningbug had on.

Looks like the beast was wearing the hat too!

Perhaps we have discovered The Sorting Hat (sorry, have to throw in a little Harry Potter here) discarded by an unsuspecting & unknowing Muggle.

I wanna try it on — I want to be a Slytherin!

Funny, I don’t even remember putting Trudy’s bush hat on. The hat in question is not Trudy’s. Trudy’s hat doesn’t have a chin strap. I am looking at it right now.

In all seriousness, chili thinks the hat may belong to Mrs. GeoPink
