Congrats Gary on the awesome achievement of Platinum Earthcache Master!!!!
Way To Go!!
We need more of these in the state.
02/25/2008 at 2:59 am #1885072Congrats Gary. I know you have been working on that for quite a while.
02/25/2008 at 11:38 am #1885073Thanks guys.
35 Earthcaches in 5 states…and oh the sights!
Along the way to MN I found one of Lagrac’s Earthcaches (Black’s Ravine Earthcache GC19696 ) which I recommend to anyone who want’s to see something really cool (winter might be the best time). Here is a pic:

Congratulations! I hope you got the other earthcache nearby, The Weeping Wall. In many ways, I thought that one was even more impressive, but they both are well worth a winter visit.

Yes I did catch the other Earthcache as well but the Punch bowl to me was breathtaking. The ice was so blue! It really shouldn’t be missed…just be careful on the stairs and the slopes!02/25/2008 at 6:26 pm #1885076Congrats! I need to get active with the one that I’ve imagined near me.
02/26/2008 at 6:35 am #1885077Congrats on the platinum earth cache master. What all did that entail, in terms of numbers of caches placed/visited?

Visit and log twenty (20) or more Earthcaches in five (5) or more states/countries and have developed three (3) or more Earthcaches.
As those are the requirements, you are qualified by number of finds and states/countries already…you just need to place a third Earthcache and you are in business as a Platinum Earthcache Master as well. Woohoo: if you place another one and submit the info to http://www.earthcache.org/ they will send you a shiny pin…oooh Shhhiiinnny!02/26/2008 at 5:39 pm #1885079Hey Gary,
Now that you are a Platinum Master, have you gained the ability to polymorph?

Well done. your Earthcache listings are the best of the best and it is obvious to me that you do your research and invest a great deal of time in setting up the instructional and educational portions of the listings.
You set the benchmark for future Earthcache placers and your recent efforts have gotten others interested again in this very special cache type.
Now I just have to find the time to get out and do yours. I have about 4 Earthcache listings that I have been developing but have decided to wait until the weather breaks so I can spend the needed time in the filed before creating the listings.
I hope that mine will reach the standard you have set for future Earthcaches in Wisconsin. Your caching style, creative puzzles, investment into the caching community via the forums continue to inspire!
Some day soon I will make the trip down to my hometown (Dave even gets there more often then I do these days) and when I do I intend to look you up. You have an appointment with a pigeon and a drainpipe to keep…
03/01/2008 at 11:14 pm #1885082Thanks for the kind words….and yes your two Watertown puzzles keep haunting me…I know where they are I just can’t get at them…yet.
Also my latest Earthcache which is currently under review by the Earthcache folks is to be the closest to you and was originally going to be a really great cache but with several concerns voiced by the parks staff I had to scale it WAY back so I apologize if it does not inspire visitors in the way which I originally intended. There are more features in the park that I could not mention on the cache page. The location is still one that shouldn’t be missed but people will have to do exactly what the page asks you not to do to see what the park really has to offer.
03/02/2008 at 10:05 pm #1885083Congrats on your accomplishment!!!
Hoping to join you soon! I have the states an the caches (83 Total when I get them all logged) Just need to reinstate my one and get another out.
I can’t wait to get out to do those you have created. I find that these Earthcaches are much more gratifying than most regular caches, as we all get to see and learn so much!! Quite the incredible earthly things you ahve seen on your adventures, I am sure!!
Meet you on the Platinum Earthcache Master platform soon!!

You and Digital Dan are Earthcache machines!
There’s plenty of room in the club so I certainly welcome you with open arms.03/03/2008 at 7:23 pm #1885085 -
