Mary and I are planning to hunt a cache or two after work tonight but geocaching.com is not responding because the server is apparantly overloaded — again. I checked on the Buxley map and picked out a cache nearby that we haven’t hit — Lowes Lake #1. Can anyone post the coordinates for it here and tell me whether it’s still active? Is is a nice hike?

A little late i’m sure, but I just e-mailed you a gpx file of all the caches in SE Wisconsin. It’s always nice to have these handy in a PDA or on a PC in case I cannot get online.

On another note, I recently purchased a jumpdrive that I keep all my important files on to carry with me everywhere I go. If you are not familiar, a jumpdrive is a USB memory card about the size of my index finger. It can be plugged into any pc with a USB port, and works like a portable hard drive. They come in various capacities, mine is 256 MB.

My worst experience while geocaching was being miles from home and having my PDA crash. With my jump drive, I can now walk into any library, school, or store that has PC’s and restore all my geocaching data in just a few minutes.

Thanks, Russ. GC.com decided to work again just before we left, so we were able to print out the page and take it along. Thanks for the offer to help. Now I need to get area caches reloaded into my GPS and PDA so I don’t get caught short again.
