I really need some help as to how to transfer the loc maps to the gps unit. I have a card reader and know how to transfer the maps from the pc to the card However I am stumped as to how to transfer the card maps to the gps. I get to the screen to transfer but the gps says it does not recognize the loc maps however the manual says that it reads loc docs. If anyone can help me that would be great or direct me to another web site. Even better would be on site teaching. I am located in Montello and will travel to the teacher if need be. Thank you all ! 🙂

We used an ifinder for several years, but I’m not sure what you are referring to by transfering “loc maps.” If you have the LEI mapping software, which I assume you do because you have the card reader (it should be a collection of 8 or so CDs), once you install the map to the SD card the ifinder reads the map from the card.

Could you further explain the problem you are having?

A site I found and enjoyed until my ifinder died a horrible death is:

Thank you both “gotta run” & “Walkingadventure” ! What I was able to do instead is download a program called “Easygps” and “GPXtoUSR” and convert the loc files that I download into usr files then transfer them over to the card reader that had my mmc card then install and press menu twice then to mmc files and transfer them (load) into the gps. Kinda a long way to do it without the transfer cable
