Any Mac users familiar with the Macintosh City Navigator map software? I hate to blow a C-Note for useless software.

I would assume it is exactly the same as the PC version, except it works on Mac. I don’t see how this would ever be a waste of money, having auto-routing maps on your gps makes caching in unfamiliar areas that much better.

After looking at garmins website, it looks like on the mac you use garmins Mapinstall to load maps to your gps, as of now there is no Mapsource like on the PC. what this means you won’t be able to create/backup routes, tracks, waypoints like you can on the PC.

hmmm, I’ll have to compare feature sets between the two. Creating custom routes on the computer is kinda a big deal, and to not have that feature on the Mac is, most likely, a deal breaker.

    thanks for the tip.

    Greg:

As far as I know from reading, it is the same as the Windblows version. Will check on that for your. Garmin also came out with a software package that allows you to use your windows version of maps on your mac as long as you have a USB Garmin, and not a serial garmin. I will try to find the link, I beleive it is called Garmin Bobcat, or something like that.
