Greetings. I just got the magellan directroute while i purchased my explorist 600. Now the directroute program wont start till you put in the CD-1 disk in the computer and it gets the data off of that. Is there a way to install that disk to my hard drive so I dont have to put in that disk everytime I want to use the program?

Delete the current installation from your pc, then copy the entire cd to a folder on your hard drive. Run the install from the folder you made on your hard drive instead of the cd.

Shout if you need more details.

Cathunter. Im shouting for help. Can you email me directions on this. Im not too computer smart to figure that out. Also there is 2 disks. one for install and other for the information. So do I need to copy both disks and how do I set it to the hard drive instead of trying to start the CD tray.?

I was not aware that the new version was 2 disks. This presents a greater challenge. I run Magellan Mapsend & Garmin Mapsourse directly off a hard drive, but both come originally on only one CD.

There is software available for creating a “virtual cd” on your hard drive. The process varies, depending on the software. Without being able to set it up myself, I can’t really offer much more advice. My apologies for raising your hopes prematurely.

Ok Cathunter. I thought it would be worth a try. Thanks for the help.
