Anybody getting a warning before entering the Grand High Pobah WI Stats page? I’m getting a warning about Malware possibilities if I enter that page.

08/02/2009 at 1:01 pm #1911575Ok so I would say this website has done something(or been hacked), to be both flagged by google & firefox. I got two separate warnings one when trying to search/navigate to this page & one by trying to open the link directly.
Still ignoring firefox warning I continued to the page, Sure enough My Avira Antivirus stops an HTML dropper virus, once I quarantined it & tried to reload the page, all I get is a page cannot be displayed.
I found a few other websites recently with a similar dropper virus. I think this is some sort of flash or java bug based virus and you can be infected just by visiting the page & the page owner usually has nothing to do with it.
Be glad google and firefox are looking out for you.

08/03/2009 at 2:01 am #1911577And here is the related discussion in the Groundspeak forums:

Multiple people have already tried contacting the owner without success. Based on the information from Google, it appears that multiple or even all the websites hosted by this provider have been hacked… so it is not specifically a cacherstats.com problem.
It is probably best to avoid this one until the owner can address the problem. For now, I have removed the link from the Quick Links box on the WGA site.
