Allright — this will not be the last time that I will admit to having no clue!! I bought Map Send Streets & Destinations USA. I think I have it loaded onto my laptop here. I can open it and look at a map of the US. And one time I was able to upload/download something to my SporTrak. But the unit would not turn off, so I had to remove the batteries to shut if off and clear the memory again.
I don’t know what I’m doing!!! If anyone is willing to help me, I will be forever indebted and will bake you cookies or something….
Please?
Thank you,
Bec
Bec,
What is it you’re trying to do exactly..?
I’ll fire up the chat page right now if you want go there and we can talk…
Bill
Sorry Bill — I just posted and then went off line and didn’t see your post until now.
I was trying to figure out how to use MapSend. I picked a couple local caches and tried to download the waypoint. I usually do this through EasyGPS without any trouble. But I got a failure message this time. I also have GSAK, but have never used it. I guess I don’t know how to get this info to MapSend and then have no idea how to get this info into my GPS.
I need an owner’s manual, I think.
Bec
Bec,
Here’s the link for the manual….
http://www.magellangps.com/assets/manuals/newprod/manual_MapSendStandDest.pdf
If you’re a premium member at GC.com you can have “pocket querries” email’d to you automatically… You can configure them almost anyway you wish..
The file that’s sent, loads directly into GSAK(Really pays off to learn it). Then from one screen in GSAK you are able to upload wpts. to your gps and also export a .wpt file which should work for your mapsend problem…
Any help?
Maybe you already knew all this?
Email me direct for more if you need it!!
Bill
Thank You!! (I owe you cookies!) I’ll check out the manual, and GSAK. As I was looking at it, I did notice a button that uploads to MapSend. Will investigate some more. I’ll let you know if I have any questions (I’m sure I will.)
