I am grateful to be considered for another term on the WGA board of Directors. I served two years ago, then took a year off to attend to some personal matters. I now have the time and the desire to join the amazing team at the WGA.

My wife, JuLee, and I comprise the team MavWitt. We have been caching since August 2013. Though we have only found 741 geocaches to date, we have done so across the USA. We love to take road trips and include geocaching in the adventure. We have seen many kinds of geocaches and incorporate elements of them into our hides. I have been awarded the WGA Spotlight Cache award three times and the honor of hiding a Virtual geocache in the Green Bay airport.

While serving on the WGA board, I took the initiative to chair the newsletter team. We grew subscribership and introduced single-topic newsletters that are delivered monthly. I led the team of hiders for the 2022 WGA Spring Picnic in Potawatomi State Park. That experience should serve me well as I intend to lead more teams of hiders in the future.

If elected to the Board of Directors, I plan to continue to serve on the newsletter team with the goal of increasing visibility and subscribership. I would like to establish new methods to raise funds, providing much needed revenue to accomplish the goals set by the Board. I would also like to encourage formation of groups within the WGA, drawing like-minded people together for geocache outings and events. An example would be police officers and their families. I envision creating a private social media presence where members can connect with each other, sharing experiences and creating events.

Finally, I would like to increase public awareness of geocaching. I have some ideas but would welcome more.
