If you pick wild berries at a State Park and make jam out of them ….
…. Do you call it Forest Preserves?
have you been talking to RPaske?
No, because jam is pulverized fruit and preserves have fruit chunks in them, hence the name “preserves,” as you try to preserve the original appearance of the fruit in some way.

Hey, thanks for quoting that–it looks much better in bold! (Laughing about the whole topic.)
Technically I think it would be called a crime, as you aren’t supposed to pick anything from a state park. Unless you immediately eat the evidence
Although I’ve seen a few drippy-nosed kids take “pick-and-eat” a bit too far…
My girlfriend once convinced me to eat a berry we found walking at Devils Lake State Park.
I really did not want to eat it and used the “No picking stuff in parks law…” in my defense but she insisted. I do all our cooking and was puzzled that she could even recognize an edible berry. After much discussion about trust and what not I checked my cell phone signal, handed her the phone and popped the mystery fruit into my mouth. It was tasty and I did not die. Well, I lost that argument and the preserve-like substance I ate never came back out my mouth.
I just wanted to share.
