Wow,
This thread took a turn for the worse. I am going to use my keyboard of anti-threadstealing 3 and get it back on topic.
OK back on topic
11/08/2007 at 2:47 pm #1880966Hey, has anyone ever come across a Meth lab in the woods??? We haven’t but we have found a few other nasty things, not mentionable on a “family” oriented forum
11/09/2007 at 3:03 pm #1880967I always laugh when reading about these meth labs located in the woods, Most are located on secluded properties/farms or even your neighbors house.
Since all geocaching should be done on Public land I doubt you have anything to worry about. Most of the time if you find a mess in the woods it’s probably just a homeless camp. This doesn’t mean everyone shouldn’t know what to look for, but all should realize this isn’t something you really need to worry about. Your more likely to stumble onto a marijuana grow or people smoking weed than finding a meth lab.
11/09/2007 at 3:22 pm #1880968Well food for thought: a meth lab was set up above a police outfitting store here in town….thugs are not generally known for their brilliance.

That is not true. Do you have any idea how much public land there is up here that have old hunting shacks and such on it? There have been some labs found in the Chequamegon National Forest awhile back in I think Price or Ashland county. They are out there.

Yeah, you are both correct. There was a meth lab busted in the apartment houses 3 blocks from my house.
However, some meth heads do in fact take the precaution of doing their cooking on public land, since there are laws that property used for drug manufacture can be confiscated, and some of them are smart enough to figure out they would rather not have a place they own confiscated, if caught.
