Midwest Geobash 2007

My family has attended the Midwest Geobash for the last 2 years. It had previously been held in Michigan the last two years. For 2007 it will be held in Kendallville Indiana. Here is some more info for those that are considering going, that I took right off of their newsletter that they sent me:

Midwest Geobash is quickly coming up! Here’s a new website online: http://www.midwestgeobash.org
The new site contains some of the details about the 2007 event
including venue, dates, and preliminary schedules. The 2007 event
will be held on July 20-22 at the Nobel County Fairgrounds in
Kendallville, IN. It’s a great venue with a lot to offer.

In the next few weeks we will be getting the Geocaching.com event
page online and ready for viewing. Additionally, we hope to have our
registration packages online along with campsite rental functionality
in the next 3-4 weeks. There will be camping onsite, but check out the
main website for detalis on other lodging options. This year, there is
a hotel within walking distance of the bash.

Photos from 2006 are online now too and there is a link to them on
the main website.

Don’t forget to check out the forums! Many people re-connect here
after the event and we post more regular updates there and on our
front page news section.

This is the first year we have employed a newsletter tool to get out
information about the Geobash. It has been pre-populated with the
emails of those who registered in 2006 and also those who put their
email on our signup sheet. Please help us get the word out about
Midwest Geobash by posting something in your local forums or mailing
lists. If you like, you can tell people they can get on this

My family had camped while attending the last two events. This event is labelled a “mega-event.” It is extremely organized and well hosted. Last year they surprised everyone by handing out “green jeeps” to all who attended. Hope to see more from Wisconsin attending. Tami

Looks like fun. Maybe we can ask the WGA Board if the WGA can sponsor one of the $25 spots at the top of the web page to show our support of the event and of Midwest geocaching.

Now that I have been looking at the webpage, this really looks like fun. I didn’t get to camp nearly as much as I need to last year (yes, it’s a psychological need) so this may help!

I like the idea of the WGA sponsorship. For only $25, that’s a cheap way to advertise and show support.
