Got a little bit more information. The guidelines are done, but couldn’t get them yet. The website for Milwaukee County Parks will be updated sometime next week. Sue Black is presenting them to the County Board at the 4/5 meeting. Apparently this is just and FYI presentation to the board. It appears that the county naturalists were involved with the creation of the guidelines. We’ll have to check them out next week.

Thanks for the update Uncle_Fun
Overall, my communications with the Milwaukee County Parks have been very positive. The policy is still in draft form but recognizes geocaching and letterboxing as a positive use of the parks. I see it as something we can live with. They are working to set up a method of communication with the park managers for notifying them of cache placements. I have not seen the actual form yet but a draft of the information they want on it (cacher name, how to contact, coordinates, description of cache hide, etc.)
I have received a few emails from other cachers about this. Hang tight, I think I we will be okay. I have asked how we can get approval for existing caches as well.

P.S. Yes, I do live and work in Milwaukee County so this is important to me.
