Here are ten of the things that will will remember most about our first WGA Event in no particular order.
1) Meeting BOD members that we hadn’t met and seeing the one’s that we had previously met again (there, that gets the sucking up out of the way).
2) A long hike to The Artful Dodger multi with BunnyFuFu, Digital Dan, Peach 107 and Justin on the first day.
3) The great pancake breakfast, maybe the whole weekend could go American Plan.
4) Friday night social bingo. We’ve been to over a dozen events and this was the best way to meet new people.
5) Winning the Gander Mountain gift card at the raffle Saturday. It came in handy as our camp stove broke Sunday morning.
6) Winning the imaginary first place award for the biggest camp setup.
7) Finding three Lonely caches in the park for some points in the game.
8) Finding 9 of the 10 permanent caches in the park. We passed the tenth one without knowing it on Friday. Attending all of the planned events of the weekend took precedent over making time to go back and look for it.
9) Hiking a total of 25 miles during the 3 days.
10) Returning to Governor Dodge after more than 25 years with our little girl Becky still with us (now she’s a soccer mom and we had to kidnap her for the weekend so she could get some caching time in).
