Im using Mobipocket(free version) on Palm OS to supplement our sheets we print out to take caching. (Occasionally, we come across a waypoint that we didn’t print out, so the nose of the cache mobile tends to want to veer that way!)

I can use the ‘find” feature to look for a GC waypoint number, but if I want to search the Appendix, where the hints are, I’m out of luck. Any suggestions? Do I have to get the licensed version to search here?

Any other Reader application that I can download that will allow me to see the hints with out scrolling through 500 waypoints?

Or do I go with Rpaske’s suggestion of buying Cachemate. This is occasional use, so I’d rather use a shareware.

    Thanks!

    Searchers,

We were Mobipocket all the way for quite some time…But, those searching probs. along with a few other items left us wanting more…

Since, we have gone the Spinner/Plucker route with much more satisfaction…There’s actually a “link” to the hint right after the cache’s page…

It’s true, that it seems complicated but, once you’ve got it down, not all that bad..

I’ve looked into gpx spinner, and I was too lazy to really try to get it to work (I was in too much of a hurry & the future Mrs. WISearcher was waiting)

but I’ll give it whirl this time!

    Thanks,
    Mr. WISearcher

I just use the online version, then Plucker.

I have not been able to search for cache listings as it claims in the find mode. I put the geocache waypoint GC# in the search field, but it comes up empty. I gotta figure this out, it is a pain to scroll through page after page of the chapter list looking for the cache I am near. Anyone else having trouble with this?

    Rangerboy:

Make sure that you check the “Match whole word” check box. That should take care of finding caches themselves. But, if you want to find hints you’ll have to join me in trying out GPX spinner! I’ll do that eventually!
