Hi Folks,
I’m active in the New York geocaching community, and just for kicks I’ve started working on a bookmark list of the caches with the most finds in each state. (I’m restricting myself to caches with a physical container – no virtuals, locationless, etc., although I may include a couple of extremely prolific examples for comparison purposes.) I’ve been doing much of the research by hand, but I thought that if anyone would know where my research efforts have failed it would be active local cachers in different communities.
Anyway, I’m here because I’m not entirely confident in my research for Wisconsin. The best I’ve been able to come up with on my own is Westbound I-90/94 Coffee Break with 472 finds… But I have a nagging suspicion that I’ve missed some other more-visited caches.
Does anyone know if I can do better?
Thanks very much,

Well, that’s got me beat. The ones I recall are only half of that. Sorry I can’t help you with that one.
No, that does help… Makes me think it’s a little more likely that I might have the right one…
The oldest cache we’ve found is GC4C4 (hidden 3/17/01) with 285 finds-not even close!
Here’s the first draft… Subject to amendment of course.
Most Found Caches by State and Country
There’s also a link in the bookmark to some oddball stats you may or may not find interesting…
Thanks a bunch for the help.
Cheers,

It’s really amazing all the things that can be done with numbers!
Thanks for the links ………..
Just happened to notice that Dam Pretty View #1 (GC79B3) in the Dells has been found 574 times since 2002.
Awesome. I’ve made the update to the main list. Thanks!
