I can’t seem to find the answer, although, I feel like I’ve seen it before somewhere.
How far can you move a cache from it’s original position and not have to archive it?
Thanks!
09/23/2007 at 9:25 pm #1879186As far as you want, as long as the new location is good.
And the answer to the question you are really trying to ask is: I believe the system will let you move the cache 300 feet on your own. To move it farther, just email a reviewer.

09/24/2007 at 2:27 pm #1879188I recently had to move a cache (NEMESIS #8 Uhm Yeah! to NEMESIS #8 Uhmm Yeah! The Sequel) 75 feet and the system would not allow it. I ended up having to re-do the entire cache.
This would be a great thread for the “Ask a Reviewer” section that’s been asked for. Hint Hint! 😉 [/url]
09/24/2007 at 3:02 pm #1879189yes, there is a limit on far the system will allow you to move … I experience this too, but can’t remember the distance that I attempted … I’m guessing but I bet the move must be less than 0.10 mile.

I agree….there have been lots of questions recently about placements….Earth caches, letterbox hybrids, virtual stages of multis etc. It would be nice to have all these in one place.
Even if the section were to save the reviewers one or two questions sent to them privately each week I’d think it was worth it, but it’s really up to the reviewers if they want such a section created…..
09/24/2007 at 4:27 pm #1879191I had a cache that when I punch in the coords, I must have had fat fingers as I entered a wrong digit. I gave emailed the reviewer the the right coords and got it changed no problems and the move was a .25 miles away 😕 😯 😳 🙄

A reviewer can override the system, we can’t. 🙂
