While we aren’t quite as hooked as Digital Dan, we do enjoy a good multi-stage cache. When we’re caching with *some* people…cough cough drhaas!….we can get them to do the cemetery multis and maybe those quick two-stagers in parks. On our own, we’re more inclined to do the longer ones (though to be fair to Steve and Donna, they did Supples Sails in Fond du Lac) with us.
I’m going to start a bookmark of three stage plus multis we’ve enjoyed, mostly in Wisconsin, but also in the border states. If anyone has others to share, let me know and I’ll add it to the list.
Yes, Marc, I’ll get it listed here, too.
04/28/2009 at 11:37 pm #1906705Here are two of the best I’ve done recently, both in Waukesha County.
BlackBelts “Nature Hill” GCYKFD in Oconomowoc. 10 parts with permanent wp markers. A great hike of about a mile in a loop through a School Forest. Some of the wps are close together. but still fun. It took less than an hour.
Ranger Boys “Indian Trail” GC1J52D in Monches. I won’t say how many wps, but it’s more than ten. One of my all time favorite hides. Lots of bogus wps. In an undeveloped Waukesha County Park. I did it in 4 trips since I live close by. It’s a 3-4 hour commitment if you do it all at once, but well worth the investment.
Personally as someone who hides a lot of caches I wouldn’t place one like these. I did however just place a 7 part series in Merton, RING AROUND THE MILLPOND. It’s a 2-1/2 mile loop that has 5 othe caches along the way.
PM me if you have questions on any of these.

Hmm, nothing comes up with “Zilmer” on a search on GC.com.

Thanks!
04/29/2009 at 1:39 am #1906710Zillmer’s trail is missing a few of the WP’s and the owner has been notified multiple times. It would be a wonderful cache in a beautiful location, if it was fixed. Good luck…
04/29/2009 at 1:46 am #1906711How about 18 holes of mega frisbee golf?
Whooooop!
Holy cow did that brick come in flying close to my head or what…

04/29/2009 at 2:29 am #1906713Thought I had a good one for the list:
GC12F4T 12 Angry Caches
unfortunately it has been archived before I could get to it 🙁
But,
GC11HJ2 Seldom’s Insanity
is an active 4-stage multi

04/29/2009 at 2:44 am #1906714Not released yet, but after this event there will be a 13 series one, if I am reading the post correctly.

04/29/2009 at 2:55 am #1906715We currently have two active 3 stage multi’s to add to the list:
Mars-N.E.W. Solar System Series, a nice three stage 1.5 mile round trip walk on the Mountain Bay Trail. Of course it wouldn’t be an AstroD hide without a water hazard somewhere along the way…
Old Rockland, it is not a puzzle but there is a bit of math involved with this one. Well, we are in Mathatopia. Also, there is a benchmarking element to this one as well.
Kicking around some ideas for some new ones as well.

04/29/2009 at 12:11 pm #1906717Any of Uncle Funs multis can be added to the list, also The Return of the Magnificent Seven. They are all in SE WI
04/29/2009 at 2:57 pm #1906718Like Digital Dan we are from an area that had very creative hiders of multicaches. Now archived ones by Badlatitude and JThorson come to mind. Ranger Boy is still creating them and has many active ones longer than 2WPs. Rebus and Tutt-Head GCVBVB, Joe Belch Ace Gum GCNR2A are two with solvable puzzles at each WP. After doing several of his caches a good multi challenge would be Hissy Fit GC12804. Actually a 2 stage Just Another 35 mm Film Canister in the Woods GC1C84G involves a nice hike. There are quite a few other that could be listed also.
