    http://www.munzee.com/

I don’t have the required equipment to this, but it looks like a blend of Geocaching / Foursquare. I heare about it on the Podcacher Podcast this last week and had to take a look. I’m not sure how this is going to play out as it’s pretty new.

“Points” are awarded when someone scans one that you have placed. That means that the idea is to make it as accessable as possible.
No real descriptions. No pesky logs to write. No real guidlines and no reviewers as far as I can see…
    What could possibly go wrong?

I am hiding central wisconsin’s first munzee tonight. Hmmmm, I wonder where I will hide it, maybe under TBC’s mailbox. JK!

Think this’ll be a good selling point to talk my wife into letting me get a smartphone?

Funny as it sounds, BakRdz and I talked about this exact concept about 4 months ago while having coffee at the Starry Place.

Problems? Perhaps, but it’s certainly an interesting concept. I wonder if anyone was concerned about geocaching when it first started and it was just a bunch of people running around hiding stuff in the woods with very few guidelines?

I left my Android at work on Friday, but I’ll check it out tomorrow. There’s a few stop signs in town that might need a bar code…

This is definatley a game where “It’s all about the numbers” applies.

I don’t have the required hardware, so that rules me out, but I’m certainly curious to see how it develops.

Wausau area has there first Munzee. That sounds funny. It’s called Gaska Park 1 (something like that.)

    Is it in Gaska Park?

Yuppers, I wanted something close to my house, and this one is only 3 blocks away from me.

I figured this park was fitting since my first cache found was in Gaska Park. xD

Funny! Haven’t had much of a chance to check out forums of late. For some reason I decided to peek in today. What do I find? A post from CJ about a very concept we discussed months ago. I figured something like this would eventually come along as a reaction to geocaching’s numbers-based evolution (or mutation depending on your perspective.)

Downloading the app right now. Nothing in my area…for now.

To me, this whole concept would work better for travel bugs than for caches.

I’m not following your thoughts here TBC. Can you expand?
