Has anyone found or heard of any “must do” caches on the way to MWGB? I wouldn’t mind venturing a five or ten miles off the tollway if it’s interesting. That long stretch of I90 gets pretty boring.
Try Beverly. It’s Illinois’ oldest active cache, one of the oldest period, and it’s a sweet walk in one of their big forest preserves. There’s another cache along the way, making it a two-fer. Should take less than an hour round-trip. I’d have to look for details, but it’s right around the Schaumburg area, so should fit right into your route. The Chicagoland area is actually pretty blessed with good quality caching in the tree parks. Just watch out for the tree cops and the back-in boys 😉 .
Wow! GC28! The first cache in Illinois. Only about two miles off I90. Perfect. Thanks. That’s about 10 miles from where I was born.

Just another reason to be glad I live in Wisconsin. 🙂
Hi!
The Beverly Cache GC28 is a really nice one to get on way to the BASH
also Indiana’s oldest cache GC93 Indiana’s First. We will be attempting
this cache on way to MWGB, along with some as we cut across country to Kendalville, IN.
