If someone happens to pass through Redgranite WI (hwy 21 west of Oshkosh and east of Wautoma) I’d really appreciate it if they could stop by the Redgranite Quarry (behind the post office) and get me coords for the parking area of the Park (Quarry). If you let me know in advance I can tell you the requirements for the new EC to be placed there and you can be first finder…..The listing has been finished for some time and awaits parking coords to get listed.
Thanks in advance…
(Google Earth does not zoom close enough to pick it up that way…)
01/19/2009 at 1:23 pm #1900628Darn! If this had been posted before the weekend, we could have helped you out. Went by it on Friday, then again yesterday.
We look forward to experiencing the final results of your work, though! 😉
01/19/2009 at 2:30 pm #1900629I’ve spent hours upon hours both above and below the water of that quarry. Unfortunately don’t live close anymore.
Lots of neat things to see and wonder “what the was that for?” there.
01/19/2009 at 2:32 pm #1900630I should be driving through Red Granite tomorrow. If noone else has gotten you the #’s, I’ll try to “get a fix” for you! 🙂

It looks like an awesome place to dive!

Woot! I hope you have the time….did you want me to email you the cache page info so you can be first finder?
01/19/2009 at 4:07 pm #1900632That would be nice! Although my primary focus will be to get the #’s for you! 🙂

If you don’t stop by I can have my dad get the coords. He works in Redgranite.
If you get it posted before the weekend I can make it a must do on saturday before we go to hartman creek.
It is a great place to dive. The vis is good up to 20′ most of the time. Go past the 1st thermal cline and the temp is too cold for a wetsuit (IMO). I usually go Memorial Day weekend.

Ya never know….sometimes I have had listings go live in as few as two hours or as long as several days….I will submit the listing just as soon as I have the parking coords. 😛
01/19/2009 at 7:42 pm #1900635I don’t know if this link will work: Map Quest Link (you may need to zoom out)
The above link is for these co-ords: N44 02.565 W89 05.834

OK…wow. And here I thought Google(Earth) pawned at all they did. That is a fantastic map and all I need. Thanks for the help.
I will be submitting this EC later today.
Thanks for all the offers of help!
01/19/2009 at 7:53 pm #1900637I have been going to that quarry for 30+ years and I did not know that parking lot existed. I either park behind the post office or at the bank on 21.
01/19/2009 at 8:32 pm #1900638Using Mapquest was something that I learned about during my days as a reviewer. They have *much* better coverage out in the boondocks than does Google.
