Hi Folks,
I am having a time solving the puzzle below. I am terrible with these things as I don’t have a clue as to even where to begin.
The cache is hidden at coordinates:
N 45° 22.AAA W 086° 55.BBBSolve: AAA = 5/8 – 173
BBB = 1/4 + 63Can some worthy cacher steer me in the right direction in solving this puzzle?
Thanks…
Capt. Ed05/22/2010 at 8:43 pm #1929556Ha, Ha 😆 I had a dickens of a time with that one too. Then after I solved it, I made up one of my own with a different slant on it. And just recently another knock-off of that puzzle has popped up on Washington Island. I’ve sent you a PM with a clue…hope it helps. And don’t be afraid of contacting cache owners…most are very willing to help with the solve 😀

Thanks bartrod. This is the cache on the Island…
05/30/2010 at 9:10 pm #1929558One hint that I feel comfortable with giving here is that it is imperative to put a big fat ZERO before the 63. Hope this helps. At least this is what I would do if this was KS9WI shortcut puzzle in Green Bay.

The buck stops here. . .and gets entered into Where's George.

I hadn’t thought of that yet but I’ll give it a whirl…
😉06/29/2011 at 1:58 am #1929560“Shortcut this puzzle” is driving me mad. I hate brainteasers and the like, but I hate not being able to do something even more. Can a new cacher get some guidance too?

That’s to bad, because the answer isn’t derived from an equation…
06/30/2011 at 7:24 am #1929563my hint on Shortcut this Puzzle is focus on the fractions. maybe this will help. i have the solve on thi, but not the find, so more work remains….
06/30/2011 at 3:08 pm #1929564And if you do one, you gotta try the other two versions. I moved my version to Marinette from GB…the old one got muggled. And Northwood Tom’s is up on Washington Island. I don’t know if anyone has logged all of them yet!???

06/30/2011 at 3:28 pm #1929565Last year we were on Washington Island, and saw this one sitting up there. But sitting in the restaurant, we couldn’t solve it before the ferry left. So once back ‘down here’, we set about solving and hunting the first two, and that went ‘crazy fine’. But the bugger up there, still eluded us last summer, though we thought we knew it’s approximate location. Had we returned without the solve, we’d have still searched for it on foot without the true solve, as that’s certainly one way to shortcut a puzzle. Now ya went and got our interest up again, so this one is back on top of the ‘give it another shot’ pile.
Keep those hints coming!

We’re pretty certain GZ is on a rather large Island, but not certain if it is in Green Bay, or Lake Michigan. Or even if Green Bay is considered Lake Michigan….. 8)
