I’ll be in Stevens Point for work in a couple of weeks and will only have a few hours to do some geocaching. Any recommendations for biking or hiking caches?

Well…… how do you feel about nanos? They seem to be pretty common in point. If you don’t like them… avoid them 🙂

Most of the terrific cache in Stevens Point were owned by the Bandits, and most have sadly recently been archived. However, there are still some good caches around in point:

    1. GCWQBM, Down by the Old Mill Pond, is a terrific 3 part multi in a nice place. Nice walk in a great place.

    2. GCGRAC Echo Dells is an easy walk or bike on flat terrain in a scenic area. This is on the 30 mile long Green Circle Trail, a bike trail that encircles Point, and the best trail if you are looking for caches you can bike to. Ends in an ammo can.

3.GC1B7YZ (Bridge to Teribatha) and GC1B7Z1 (Gumby) are next to each other on the Green Circle Trail. Parking is tricky for these 2, but if you have autorouting, it wont be a problem. Great area. Ammo cans.

    5. GCQC95 Stevens Point Brewery on the Yellowstone Trail (mine, so perhaps biased) starts at Point brewery and then takes you down to the Wisconsin River on the Green Circle Trail. Ammo can.

There are also quite a number of park and logs and nanos to fill in the rest of your time after ya get these good ones.

A lot of the nanos were put out by Lil Banditto–now archived, too.

But like zuma says, many good ones left.

Thanks for the recommendations, I did ride a few miles on the green circle trail, found a couple micros near my hotel and tried the Brewery cache which we couldn’t find logical parking for the final but the marker was pretty cool anyway. I’d like to come back to this area with more time to explore the trails and caches.

I did “…Old Mill Pond” this afternoon and it was a terrific multi. Out of my my 130 finds, Old Mill Pond I think ranks #1 on my list.
