Title-AbominationBy Janean Nusz “Author, reviewer & graphic desig… – See all my reviews
Michigan State Police Captain Nikos “Nick” Andreakos is searching for a serial killer. A killer who targets young blonde women who have, to the killer’s way of seeing things, committed a sin. Nick has learned that the killer calls himself Gideon, and that he posts clues to his latest victims on a geocaching website.
Nick is stunned to realize that his soon-to-be-ex wife has been targeted by Gideon. He fears the worst when he finds his wife’s home in disarray, and both she and their toddler missing. Horrified, Nick begins a desperate search to find her before the serial killer posts his next victim on the geocaching site.
Eve Andreakos can’t remember who she is, where she came from, how she got the large lump on her head. She doesn’t know why she’s covered in blood, or if the young child with her is her daughter. The only thing she can remember is fear.
When a good Samaritan, Bree, stops to help her and then offers her a place to stay while she recuperates and tries to recover her memory, Eve is only too happy to take her up on the offer. With no history, she’s found that she has no future, and no place to call home.
As the women’s bond of friendship grows over time, Eve begins to realize that the killer who was so close on her trail when Bree found her may be even closer now. Terrified, and feeling utterly alone, Eve must decide whether to run again, or stay and fight for her life.
Author Colleen Coble has delivered an incredible story in ABOMINATION, the fourth book in the Rock Harbor series. Engrossing, full of detail, and populated by richly drawn characters, ABOMINATION is a page-turner. Coble draws the suspense out, dragging readers along for the ride, all the while deftly keeping them in the dark until the very end. Her characters are sensational, written so well that readers will long to come home to Rock Harbor with Bree , just as Eve does.
Kudos to Coble on a well-written masterpiece!
My wife came across this book on Amazon. She said she ordered it for me. I use to be a huge reader. I have never heard of the author before here other book sound pretty interesting. Stories take place in Rock Harbor,MI.
This may be old news, but I never heard about it.

It is part of the Rock Harbor Series by the author (though you don’t need to read any of the others to jump right in).
I’d be interested to know how much the author knew about caching when she wrote the book. It be interesting to know if geocaching.com changed the website due to the story (requiring a login prior to getting coordinates).
05/05/2008 at 11:16 am #1888831there is actually a series of caches that go along with the book, and a geocoin too, that has clues hidden in it.
05/05/2008 at 12:05 pm #1888832I have the geocoin for this book attached to my binoculars to make them a travel bug. If you saw the coin, you’d see why it’s an appropriate one for a birder’s companion!
05/10/2008 at 2:49 am #1888833I just read the book it was a good book I think every cacher should read it the local is great I want to go and visit soon
05/10/2008 at 11:11 pm #1888834Why is it always young blond women?
05/11/2008 at 2:16 am #1888835because redheads run faster and blonds have more fun
05/13/2008 at 1:20 pm #1888836I read the book (I received a signed copy for finishing the series) and it was ok, just not my type of read.
However, the cache series is excellent. The northernmost cache is just north of St. Ignace up here in the U.P. The series pretty much follows I75, US127, and US10 south almost to Midland in the lower peninsula. Every cache in the series is a great hike with an ammo can at the end. They all take you to areas that are more than worth visiting.
Here is a link to the series final, which has links to all the other caches in the series…
