Bump…better late than never…
On the Left Side of the Road...12/28/2010 at 2:36 pm #1900339Fun thread. I know where I won’t be caching….
12/28/2010 at 4:04 pm #1900340In case ya didn’t notice, one of the caches that initiated this thread was recently force-archived. But at least the local geocommunity didn’t have to go pick up the geo-litter (this time, anyway)…

Thanks for the bump, I re-read most of the thread before I realized how much of a bump it was when I got to my own lengthy post. Whew, was that a read!
12/28/2010 at 8:43 pm #1900342WOW – I will have to take more time later to read all of the above, but what I have read sounds pretty brutal… If I am correct there is a review process before a cache is placed! Is there also a post-install review?

Only when the caches pose a safety threat or are in disrepair for extended periods of time.
12/28/2010 at 9:18 pm #1900344This particular thread is a long and winding journey, yet particularly relevant given recent news. It is uncommon for most cache owners to have even one of your caches disabled by a reviewer for maintenance issues. Rarer still for a cache to be force archived for ongoing delinquency and noncompliance with multiple entreaties for repair. So if ten of your 13 owned caches are archived for those reasons, don’t expect the goecommunity to kiss your feet if you decide to toss a few new caches into the shrubbery before disappearing again for months on end.

Not exactly. If you’re talking about the same one as I am, it was a multi, and the first stage is still out there. I would have gone and picked it up, but the high water levels in Honey Island Flowage prevented me from doing so.
All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.
