Please excuse my exuberance, but I promised a couple people I’d let them know when this cache listed. It is an Earth cache placed at a meteor impact site.
GC16KZC
Zuma! has also placed three caches there so if you are feeling like a quick hunt on this one you might wish to wait a day or so until his list.
THANKS ZUMA!!!!!
10/15/2007 at 4:01 pm #1880267Thanks Lostby7 for this great earthcache!!! Great spot.
Also a huge thanks to Wis Kid, who published my 3 physical caches that can be done at the same time as your earthcache in the same park, within moments of listing them. Wow, that was fast!
I know this park is in the middle of nowhere, and even though I only live 30 miles away or so, I had never heard of it, or the meteor strike. Folks who make the trek, though, will see some pretty cool evidence of a meteor here though.
Again, Lostby7, thanks for the awesome earthcache!!!

10/15/2007 at 4:12 pm #1880268YEA! i can’t wait you guys to go and do these caches.. I got a sneak peek at the page that Lostby7 had made up for the cache… Looks awesome and something i would be very interested in seeing! now to just plan a time to go and do it!!
10/15/2007 at 4:12 pm #1880269I just checked out Zumas caches and they look awesome! Anyone wanna pan for gold???
10/15/2007 at 4:12 pm #1880270Oh man, does this ever look fun! I wonder if Trekkin’ will develop a nasty flu bug tomorrow, lol. Oh no, he can’t. Well, the weekend is only a few days off!
Thanks to lostby7 and zuma for giving us a weekend goal. There’s one in Plum City I whiffed, too.
And zuma, middle of nowhere? It’s only 78.2 miles from me. Oh yeah, that’s right. I live in the middle of nowhere, at least compared to the cache rich areas!
10/15/2007 at 9:26 pm #1880271Oh my!! I’ve done one Earthcache before that dealt with an Impact feature, but it was not even close to being as well researched and written up as this one. I’ve got an Event in Iowa to attend Saturday… I can see myself hitting your Earthcache on Sunday. Very good job!!
10/15/2007 at 9:46 pm #1880272Thanks Lagrac. I really wanted this one to be well done as this is a rare type of feature. I spent many many hours researching and learning about the feature and then Zuma! did some leg work at the site for me as well (Zuma! Good). Finally I asked the College Prof mentioned on the cache page (Dr. William S. Cordua) to check my work before I published it.
This was a group effort…now all I need are finders to enjoy and finish off the cache.10/16/2007 at 12:19 am #1880273ugh, all I get is “application error”, think I’ve successfully gotten on gc.com twice since friday. Must be this northern cable.
10/16/2007 at 12:22 am #1880274I get it half the time too when I connect directly from the link above…its weird; I thought it was only me.
10/16/2007 at 2:03 am #1880275Ya know I can’t remember where I was reading about this recently but how cool is that. I will definitely go out of my way for this one.
10/16/2007 at 1:57 pm #1880276Awesome Earthcache Lostby7, and the surrounding caches look like a lot of fun too Zuma!! I think I’ll have to plan a camping trip around these. They are over 250 miles from home. 🙁
That’s OK. Any excuse for a camping trip is good with me.

Thanks tyedyeskyguy!
There is camping at Nugget Lake. In fact my wife camped there many times as a child.10/16/2007 at 2:01 pm #1880278And what is up with GC.com lately? The link above wouldn’t work for me, and logging into GC.com and navigating there takes forever the past week.
I’ve also noticed that a lot of the geocoin icons wont show up either. They appear as just that annoying little square with the red “x” in it.

It worked for me last night but now it is not.
