😛 The new game from Caching Place starts this coming Sat.
Deer season might be a consideration!
But it sure looks fun. Lots of codes to crack.11/11/2006 at 11:53 pm #1766860Caching place???

I did their CoinQuest Game.. it was fun but a lot of work!! Had to go to Florida & Iowa to get some of the caches/events I needed 😉

The Hermits Quest was great fun.
11/12/2006 at 2:24 am #1766863Oh goodness. Is it that time again? I need some rope to tie up my local FTF hound so that I can get that requirement knocked off…anyone have some rope I could borrow?

Oh no, not again.
😯 😉
11/15/2006 at 2:24 pm #1766865The game site is ready:
http://www.thecachingplace.com/cachunuts/orientx/default.aspyou have to click Start your game to receive your ‘departure’ time.
We got hit with a 12hr delay, but actually that isn’t bad since we will be at the Badger game anyway, so I don’t feel bad about it 🙂
11/15/2006 at 3:16 pm #1766866I’m trying to decode the reqs with little sucess thus far…..
*EDIT well duh….the req’s come later the thing I was trying to decode is the logbook and I’m having some sucess…11/15/2006 at 7:45 pm #1766867Went on and signed up I got the suitcase that holds me back for 8 hrs after the train leaves, Better than 12 I guess.
11/15/2006 at 8:24 pm #1766868I got 9 hours. But like so many others, I have stuff going on Saturday, so it doeasn’t make much difference.
Here’s a little hint to get started on your planning. The FAQs mention two cache requirements: bank of a river and riding a bike. That’s awesome because there is a cache on a bike trail nearby I’ve been meaning to hit all year. Now I must do so! 8)
Unlike last time there are only 16 requirements and you must do them all – no picking and choosing. Hopefully they will be avoiding the FTF and event requirements they have had before! Those were hard.
Having the game over the Thanksgiving holiday is a mixed blessing. Yes, there will be more free time for caching, but during our travels my computer access will be very spotty. Also, there is deer hunting season to consider. Ah well, there was one I was planning to do in a public wildlife area for the DeLorme challenge anyway. Break out the blaze orange!
11/15/2006 at 9:00 pm #1766869I suppose is this were the fact we haven’t done much caching lately can help us out 🙂
also note that according to the FAQ, in addition to having to do all 16 reqs, they must ALL be new finds, no relogs of previous finds allowed. It was nice that they let you reuse afew previous finds last game, though you did have to revisit.
11/15/2006 at 9:16 pm #1766870LOL I have not done much caching lately either so that will work in my favor. The 16 req’s will have A or B components (A =do this B =do this other thing) as well so there is not an all or nothing must do feeling. I got 6 hours but I’m at realitves eating thanksgiving…looks like I will need to find wifi closeby 😈
11/16/2006 at 2:39 am #1766871We got a 10 hr delay in our suitcase. Guess that gives us a few hours to figure out where to go for the requirements. I hope there are no FTF, events, or caves. Anyone betting on there being a tunnel?
11/16/2006 at 2:54 am #1766872🙄 I got a 5 hour start time. I could not get my old name to register for the game so I reregistered as ratzandcompany.
If there is an event cache I will be dead in the water.

No you won’t.. well just have a meet and greet out your way is all. Always ways to get around that stuff 😉 We’ll each host an event near each other!! Got that Idea from one of the higher-ups down in Florida last year!! For the first CoinQuest. Digital Dan and I drove to Iowa for an event…. and that was more of an event/meeting/gathering, but HEY..it counted! 😀
