We were not any better with our pick (30 hrs) can’t log our 2nd cache until midnight tonight. At least it gave us the time for some caches.

Don’t worry I forgot until I saw this post today. I’m sure I will make you look better.

Well, chalk this up to being a newbie to the game. We’ve pulled great times: 4 hour start, 4 hour first cache, 10 hour second. Buuuut, I chose an area on Saturday that fit none of the requirements. Go figure. We’ll catch up, but I see that someone already has six.

Don’t forget that one of the requirements is a Monument waymark… I got two of them listed last night: Lake Mills, Jefferson. would be nice if some others could get some more of them listed in the Madison vicinity (you can’t log your own waymark) [within 30 miles of Madison would be nice]
All it takes is a photo of the Monument/Memorial (see the category for details on what counts) along with description and coordinates.

I saw the Jefferson one pop up this morning. I’ll have to go back to see the one in Lake Mills….I’m thinking about placing a Waymark in Delafield or in Oconomowoc.

The Puppies asked if there were any monuments I could waymark in Fort Atkinson, and there is one. I’m getting a picture and submitting it later today.

Pulled a 2 hour case on my second pick *yay*, then a 24 hour. *sigh*

Oops, posted to the wrong forum!

Heh. I got the lucky clover for low average picks on the cases, but I can’t cache fast enough to take advantage of it. More night caches!

    #1766898

but your times only matter if you are trying to finish in the top group.
i still have two caches to go on last year’s game. but i am planning on finishing it next weekend. along with hitting a few caches for this one. and it’s nice this year that you can order a coin no matter what place you finish in. at least you can if they don’t run out. i thought the code breaker coins would be great, but they were already sold out. i made the paper ones. then after logging my first two caches, i confused myself and couldn’t solve the code. took a fresh look the next day and now i have two lines solved.

I have the opposite problem…an average log time of 32 hours and 12 caches done. I have pulled 48, 28 and 20 hours.

😳 I am not sure what I am suppose to decrypt on the map. What are you uncoding? And where do you get the key word to use with the wheels?
    Thanks for the help.

I wondered how you (Team Honeybunnies) got the 4 leaf clover. I think we got lucky because we hit 2 short times when we had already found about half the requirements. For Ratz and Company: for each requirement you log on the game site you receive another piece of the treasure map. On the first piece is what you need to solve the first coded line of the Journal. On the second piece is what you need for the second line, etc. Please e-mail me through geocaching.com if you need more

I was confused by that as well.

First you must have the coded journal printed off. Then as you get each piece of the “puzzle”, you will find something on the piece that looks out of place – a letter for the first two, then words on the others. The letter or word is the key to decrypt each corresponding line in the journal.

Did that clear anything up or just make it muddier?

Finally pulled a 34 hour last night. Some breathing room! Six done and one waiting, with a long weekend ahead. Woo hoo!
