I see that Cachew has posted a note on the event page that he will send you the coords of the caches in advance if you request them.
This should really make it much easier once you arrive for the event.
He also is providing online a sheet that you can record all your finds (there is codewords in all the caches). This event was conceived to introduce others to the great trails in New Glarus Woods, the great bike/hike Sugar River Trail and the fantastic little town of New Glarus which you will love to explore.
Rumor has it that Mrs. Wzbt03 will also be there to help out – did I mention the shopping in New Glarus or the wonderful swiss menu at the New Glarus Hotel
.07/08/2004 at 2:21 am #1737286Thank you, Jeff – and all of the Team Badger members who got this event off the ground! Yes, here is a copy of what I put on the cache listing. This should be a very fun day!
Here are some final notes before the event…The temporary containers range from microcaches to mini-hides. Each container has a codeword inside which you need to copy onto your logsheet. (Please bring your own pen/pencil!)
Somewhere near this location will be a Locationless Cache, too! Details to follow soon.
Cache placement is never far off of the trail – Please respect the area!
This is summertime in Wisconsin and the skeeters are in abundance – Come prepared.
If interested, we can email a file of the coordinates and the logsheet to you – such that you can arrive with all of the waypoints preloaded. Waypoint files are in easyGPS, Garmin and Magellan formats. The logsheet is Excel. Email Cachew at [email protected] and I will reply to you with the files.
We will have a laptop for uploading coordinates as well. We have cord sets for Garmin GPS V and Map76 series, Garmin Etrex series, and Magellan Meridian series. If in doubt, please bring your own cord for upload.
Bring your own food and refreshments. There are stand-up grilles near the shelter if you prefer to cookout. There is a water fountain near the shelter, too. There is a Culver’s in New Glarus.
07/08/2004 at 3:16 am #1737287Each day this event sounds better and better. We are sorry to have to cancel out at this late date. The Hotdogs have another commitment that has come up rather quickly, and has demanded our attention this weekend. Sorry to miss everyone, have a great day!!! We’ll be thinking of you.
07/08/2004 at 4:10 am #1737288I have off this weekend and just might push the envelope and try for 300 caches this weekend! Or at least show up and vedge.
07/08/2004 at 5:58 am #1737289Planning on attending and camping.

Co-conspirators to make the world a better place…07/08/2004 at 12:48 pm #1737290Hey! Ya. I’ll be there – If the weather cooperates.
07/08/2004 at 3:25 pm #1737291Are my eyes deceiving me or did I read somewhere that Mrs. wzbt03 will be around on Sat? I’m a bit dizzy from all the e-mails about the event, but I know I read it somewhere…LOL! Will be good to see her Jeff!
I am indeed smuggling in the usual Flatlanders (Tishman and Lucy), along w/ our friend from the South…Peoria Bill…guess where he’s from! There are also a couple of guys we’re waiting to hear from…they were at the Breakfast last month. (I’ll leave their names off in case they are too chicken to attempt to break through the Cheddar Curtain again..lol) There is going to be a campground in my backyard on Friday night.
Hey John…is that considered a temporary event cache?

07/08/2004 at 3:48 pm #1737292I’ve had good response from cachers requesting the waypoint files.
I should point out that there are 4 permanent caches included in the list, and these are ones located within the Park or on the Bike Trail only. Several other permanent caches have been placed in the vicinity over the past 3 weeks, and we encourage you to chase them down, too. Please research them as you always do – they are not part of this listing.
Cachew07/08/2004 at 4:19 pm #1737293Regarding park admission, you may pick up an hourly sticker for $3.00, a day long sticker for $5.00, or a yearly sticker (good at all WI state parks and forests) for $20.00. [prices are for vehicles registered in WI, out of state vehicles are $3.00, $10.00 and $30.00 respectively].
This really is a great use of park resources. Please respect the land! Remember to Cache In- Trash Out!
I want to thank Ranger Steve here at the Park in advance for his hospitality and enthusiasm for Geocaching!
07/08/2004 at 7:12 pm #1737294I can finally confirm that I will be there. Now I just hope the weather cooperates.
07/09/2004 at 6:03 pm #1737295Please add TamCo to the list of those attending.
07/11/2004 at 12:36 am #1737296The Event went very very well.
However when I left the park, I forgot to take my mountain bike home with me. It was sitting by the shelter and I realized it when I was 1/2 way home.
I turned on my phone and there was a message from Ca$hing Out that he had a red mountain bike for sale. Very funny!
I went back to the park and much to the amusement of those still there, a note was in place of my bike reading:Mystery Bike Location
Bearing 4 degrees
Distance 250′Hint:You won’t need a senior discount to find this.
Thorson pointed north for me and 4 degrees pointed to the mens bathrooms.
Yes it was behind the bathroom in the wooded area.
I knew it wasn’t Thorson or it would have been a multi stage find.
Cachew would have put in the most mosquito infested place so not him.
Natloh2 would have taken it deep into the woods and dropped it off , so not Alan.
Hmmm I think that left Ca$hing Out as the most likely suspect. How shall I ever get even?07/11/2004 at 1:20 am #1737297There were 6 people ‘watching’ the cache page at the time logs started to roll in. Lotsa full mailboxes tonight.
