I agree that making threats crosses the line, and obviously doing bodily injury or property damage does as well. For instance, biting the finger off a 75-year old man who was protesting health care reform…slashing the tires of 20 vehicles at a campaign headquarters in Milwaukee…spraying campaign workers with mace…Yeah, I would agree that behavior all crosses the line. (Trying to remember when that occurred…memory a bit foggy I’m afraid.)

And making a movie called “Death of a President?” Well I guess that’s protected, albeit in very bad taste.

Each end of the political spectrum has its lunatic fringe, but we must be careful that disagreement and debate is not criminalized. Unfortunately, it is all too easy for the ruling class to cast any criticism as inciteful “hate speech” that must be squelched. Or to put it another way…

I’m sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and disagree with this administration, somehow you’re not patriotic. We need to stand up and say we’re Americans, and we have the right to debate and disagree with any administration.

    –Hillary Clinton

Agreed on all counts. Violence perpetrated against a pro-life activist is the same as violence perpetrated against a pro-choice activist. It’s wrong, plain and simple. There are extremists on both sides, just as there are crooked politicians on both sides, and when any of them infringe upon on the individual liberties afforded by the constitution and the universal declaration of human rights, their actions are criminal in my book and they should be held accountable.

Excerpt “In addition to supporting federal subsidies of Viagra for child molesters, Reid, Boxer, and the rest of the Democratic caucus also supported taxes on prosthetics for wounded veterans, childrens’ orthopedic devices, and an exemption for senior leadership staff from being forced to purchase health insurance from health insurance exchanges, like Members of Congress must do. To Democrats, these things are all simply part of the price of imposing Obamacare on America.” – Reclaim America

I hear that the price of shares for most drug companies really shot up after the bill was signed… hmmm go figure, I guess I should have invested before the bill was signed so that I can afford to pay for the repercussions of the bill. 🙂
Also, fines for people who do not purchase health care?? Really?? The government imposes fines on people not interested in purchasing a service. There I can see the legal issue.
As with all legislation there is good and bad. I do like the fact that insurance companies can not drop you due to illness, must cover preexisting conditions (particularly good for people with childhood diseases such as Krohn’s, diabetes, various cancers, etc.), and can no longer cap the expenses incurred due to illness.
As far as veterans and the military go, these people should be taken care of, I feel it is a great injustice to do anything less. They have served their time, many have risked their lives and mental stability just to serve this country, it is the countries responsibility to take care of them for the services they freely gave to keep us safe and secure.

(In case you are wondering, yes, I have to much time on my hands, the business I worked for closed in Feb. and needless to say the job market is a bit weak unless you want to work for Min. wage 🙂 My new hobbies: job searching, being able to be a FULL time mom, and GEOCACHING 🙂 – hey, I need to get out and move around or I will become FAR to fluffy 🙂 )

More redistribution of wealth and probably another Ponzi scheme like Social Security, which by the way, now pays out more than it takes in. I’ll be able to survive this mess in my lifetime, but feel terrible for my kids and future generations. I can’t see how this country can continue to spend money that’s way beyond it’s means.

Washington Times – “The federal public debt, which was $6.3 trillion ($56,000 per household) when Mr. Obama entered office amid an economic crisis, totals $8.2 trillion ($72,000 per household) today, and it’s headed toward $20.3 trillion (more than $170,000 per household) in 2020, according to CBO’s deficit estimates.”

I recall when throwing around the word Billion was scary. Now they talk Trillion as if it’s just a little bit more. http://www.slideshare.net/Ficoba/whats-a-trillion

At least it’s a jobs creation bill. $10 billion to the IRS to create 16,500 jobs. That’s a good thing, right?

    It’s even better than that:

President Obama’s fiscal 2011 budget will generate nearly $10 trillion in cumulative budget deficits over the next 10 years, $1.2 trillion more than the administration projected, and raise the federal debt to 90 percent of the nation’s economic output by 2020, the Congressional Budget Office reported Thursday.

We are a country that is financially and morally bankrupt, rotting inside out from the core. But we’ll all have free healthcare. It’ll be “just like Christmas.”

And BTW, that was some really scary %(*)#& you found GR on the Anti-bush violence. When I say chill, I mean everybody. Beheadings and a fake movie about his assassination… C’mom people. I didn’t like his as president and couldn’t stand his smirk, but never wished him personal physical harm. Impeachment for certifiable war crimes – if they could be proven, sure. But death? No.

What’s funny is my Economics book is still talking in the billions!

    1. Americans spend $36,000,000 at Wal-Mart Every hour of every day.
    2. This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!
    3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick’s Day (March 17th) than Target sells all year.
    4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target + Sears + Costco + K-Mart combined.
    5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people, is the world’s largest private employer, and most speak English.
    6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of the world.
    7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger and Safeway combined, and keep in mind they did this in only fifteen years.
    8. During this same period, 31 big supermarket chains sought bankruptcy.
    9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in the world.
    10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are Super Centers; this is 1,000 more than it had five years ago.
    11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will occur at Wal-Mart stores. (Earth’s population is approximately 6.5 Billion.)
    12. 90% of all Americans live within fifteen miles of a Wal-Mart.
You may think that I am complaining, but I am really laying the ground work for suggesting that MAYBE we should hire the guys who run Wal-Mart to fix the economy.
This should be read and understood by all Americans
    Democrats, Republicans, EVERYONE!!

    My 2¢

I campaigned hard for Obama, mainly because I wanted this reform. However, and as usual from both major political parties, this is not what we asked for. This bill, in this form, is Bullshwag. It helps a lot of Americans, but it hurts just as many or more.

What is the right way to do it? It’s not for me to decide, I just know that this isn’t it.

This bill will be like any other issue in this country:

25% of the people will love it.
20% of the people will like it.
10% of the people won’t care.
20% of the people won’t like it.
25% of the people will hate it.

Elections are won and lost in the middle 50%. We all need to take classes in conflict resolution. It would help a lot of us out in many situations.
