If you haven’t noticed, check out your new pocket queiries page.

Last night, Jeremy announced it to the approvers. You now have the ability to run 20 pocket queiries, however, you are limited to 5 per day. The queries will also be delivered much faster.

If you look at the left side of the your query list, you will see a link that says “run”. If you click it, it instantly will show you the results of your search. It looks similar to a GC.com search page, with check boxes on the right hand side to download to your GPS.

Yesterday I created a new search, and had the results within 10 minutes! You will also have the ability to create “single use” queries, which will archive themselves after they run and give you the results.

I asked Jeremy about giving us the ability to create a search based on interstate highways. For example, you could search I-94, or I-43, and get a list of caches within a mile or so of the roadway. This would be handy for maping out caches while you are planning a trip. He said he had been toying around with this idea already, perhaps making it a search based on exit numbers? Now that would be Eutopia !

I guess that explains why the query I made for caches around the next breakfast site showed up in my inbox so quickly…

    Fantastic!

Speaking of new features, anyone notice that if you copy your UID and paste it in the right spot, you can now get something like this:

    or this…

Jeremy revealed these the other night also. I’ve been trying get them to save in my Signature line, w/o success. Might have something to do with UBB not allowing active images.

This is kind of cool. Will the stats update automatically?

The way I understand it from Jeremy’s posts in the groundspeak forums is that the image is generated by the first request, then that image is stored on their server for 2 hours. After 2 hours the next request will update the stats and generate a new image. This was to reduce the load on the database server, so it doesn’t have to look for the stats every time someone returns to their home page that contains their stats image.

I thought these two were interesting

If you’re interested, I whipped up a little script to generate your stats button for you. Click here to use it.

There’s no WGA graphic available (yet), so you’re pretty much stuck with the geocaching logo or the frog.
