Sure was nice of NASA and the US Air Force to enhance our hobby last month:

I was in Orlando at the time but had no idea the launch was scheduled. Not sure I would have dragged my butt out of bed at 3am if I had known… When I got home my Dad asked if we watched the launch. Reacting to my blank expression, he shared the article and I responded “WOW, $45MM just so I can geocache!” Does anyone know if that price tag is just for the satellite or does it include the payload transport vehicle, fuel, prep, etc?

I guess I should have poked around first… this article about a bird launced earlier last year indicates that the mission cost was approx $90MM including the bird. Extrapolating…the answer to my question is likely that $45MM is the actual cost of the satellite. Yikes!
