Last spring I bought a GPS and have used it for many things over the summer except geocaching. Well this fall I went out and found my first cache, wow what excitement. I am up to finding 5 caches so far. My question is, I am involved with a Boy Scout Troop in Racine and am getting the boys excited about doing this (a couple of them have even helped with finding two of the caches). We even have a travel bug we would like to send on a journey. The boys would like to have a troop meeting where they could have someone come in and talk about GPS’s, geocaching and travel bugs. Is there anybody in the Racine area who would be more experienced than I am who would be willing to come and talk to our boys and help with getting them more interesting in this?

I would be interested and I am sure there are others that might be able to work it into their schedules. ~tb11/09/2006 at 5:00 pm #1766838I would be more then happy to help.
I’m helping with a Geocaching presentation / outing this weekend for a Boy Scout Troop from West Bend. They are camping in the Kettle Moraine State Forest southern unit this weekend. My self and another Geocacher (Rogheff) are going to fill them in on the sport and hide some temporary caches for them to hunt.Let me know when you would like to do this?

11/09/2006 at 11:26 pm #1766840We’re in Racine and have taught geocaching to a middle school class before. We’d love to help, depending on date/time. Please send us an e-mail here or through our geocaching.com profile with more info.
We’d also be glad to tag along with you on a few finds to share our experiences and answer any questions you may have.

11/10/2006 at 12:13 am #1766842My son Just placed a cache for a boy scout project. It is at fire station #9 by Humble park, and should be up in a couple days. We also just took Den 10 tiger cubs to “the Judges chamber” this is a puzzle cache that got all the kids involved so they were’nt just following the guy with the gps.
