New toy – new problem

I received the Garmin Legend C that I won in the Chippewa Valley event in the mail today. It has a USB connection.

Opened up GSAK, changed the setting to USB, and ….nothing works. Error message asks if I have the unit turned on (well, DUH!), and is it plugged in (well, an even bigger DUH!).

Tried different USB ports. Same problem. Turned everything off, then back on, still the same.

Any help?

What operating system is on your PC? Does the OS recognize that you have plugged the GPSr into it?

If I were on a desert island,
and allowed just one question,
the one question I would ask is:

Does mapsource make the USB connection?

If yes, the problem is with GSAK.
If no, then the problem is PC/hardware/cable.

Thanks for your help. Turns out there was no driver with the package, so I needed to download it from Garmin.

GSAK successfully downloaded.
