“The 50% threshold was implemented – The idea where if the rating drops to below 50% it is dropped off the actual cache page (though it remains on a separate link). “
-Jeremy (no not our Jeremy..that other one at GC)
So basically if a bookmark is voted as not helpful it will fall off the cache page but still be available from the cache page when the “More” link is clicked on. This will keep some of the negative bookmarks from showing up on the main cache page at least.
***EDIT***
Then again I have already found an example of where this is not true so perhaps it isn’t working as intended or is not working at all (yet?).
Hopefully they will get it squared away. This is a good first step to remove some of these tags from peoples cache pages.
That’s nice. I hope they get that working properly.
While I can see the argument in favor of some negative bookmark lists, most of them are just made by people who think the sun shines out thier………never mind. 😈
Actually, if you look at these “negative” lists (travel bug jails, armchair caches, “injured reserve” 😀 , etc.), you will see that they almost always have a positive rating. You would think that peoples whose caches are on those lists would vote “not useful” but that doesn’t seem to happen.
